The
Xeno Energy batteries that we
sell are made with lithium-thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2).
Metallic lithium, the lightest metal, is used for the anode (negative pole, -),
and a porous carbon current collector filled with thionyl chloride (SOCl2)
is used for the cathode (positive pole, +).
With a self-discharge of less than 1% per year, which is very low compared
to other lithium batteries, these batteries have a long shelf life of ten, or
even twenty years.
These are 3.6 volt batteries, not to be confused with 1.5
volt batteries of similar size. Our available sizes are 1/2AA (XL-050F), 2/3AA
(XL-055F), AA (XL-060F), C (XL-145F), and D (XL-205F). In addition to these,
three battery sizes, the 1/2AA XL-050FAX, the 2/3AA XL-055FAX and the AA
XL-060FAX come with soldered axial ends. We also carry the 1/10D (XL-210F),
which has the size and shape of a 1/10 slice of a D size battery.
